MSFHR forum: Fostering Collaborations in Digital Health Research

The Michael Smith Foundation for Health Research is co-hosting a one-day interactive forum that will take a closer look at how collaboration between research, industry, government, health care, and education sectors can succeed in leading to real-world benefits. Engagement sessions will create opportunities for all sectors to jointly explore innovative solutions for:

  1. Youths with mental health conditions (ages 11 to 25)
  2. Seniors living at home with complex care needs

The forum will also support the formation of cross-sectoral research teams in preparation for CIHR’s eHealth Innovations Partnership Program (eHIPP) funding opportunity. It will be held on February 5, 2015.

This November marked the launch of Digital Health Week in Canada. Called Profile, the aEMR allows providers to access records across care settings. This includes physicians, nurses, medical office assistants, pharmacists and other health care workers. The Rounds offers Canadian doctors exclusive social network

The Rounds physician network

Doctors now have a free, private social network that can be accessed for professional advice and collaboration. The Rounds is a physician-only community that connects doctors from different specialty areas. It also offers information on upcoming events, research and courses. The Rounds' membership has increased rapidly since its inception in 2012, and with new features and partnerships, the team hopes to expand the network even further.
